Today we are seeing many leaders from various spheres of society not making it to the finish line due to causes ranging from an underdeveloped spiritual life, relational problems that hinder their ability to effectively lead, a lack of true humility, the abuse of power, sexual sin, untended emotional woundings – and an overall lack of understanding of the timeless ways of God from the scriptures which apply to every godly man or woman regardless of where they have been appointed to serve – family, church, government, education, media, business, arts/entertainment/sports.

As stated in our vision, our desire is ‘ to cultivate a different kind of leader – one whose reference point is a seasoned compass anchored in the ways of God, who chooses to live to finish well, invests what they have been given in others, and leads with perspective, character and wisdom to impact future generations and the spheres of society where they have been appointed to serve.’

The Leaders GetAway, and its core theme "Are you on pace to finish well?," is a five-day/four-night gathering of leaders and their spouses (if married) from throughout the nation, representing both the ministry and marketplace arenas, for a guided spiritual retreat – a time of rekindling one’s passion for Jesus, reflecting on and realigning to one’s call, and being refreshed body, soul and spirit – all with the purpose of living life to the full and with the aim of finishing well.

This unique gathering, tailored especially for leaders, begins with dinner on Monday evening and concludes with breakfast and a final session on Friday. Mornings and evenings will be filled with basking in God’s presence in worship, followed by input/discussion on themes related to tending one’s life as an influencer. Afternoons are relaxed so participants can enjoy reflective walks, spending time with one’s spouse, getting in a good nap, building new friendships, or simply throwing a ball around. Opportunities will also be available each afternoon for one-on-one time with leadership team members and for personal prayer, as needed and desired.

This event is hosted by Lionshare Leadership Group Founder and Executive Director, Dave Buehring, and his wife, Cheryl, along with a team of ministry and marketplace leaders – men and women who bring many years of experience and wisdom to share. Dan Sneed will join Dave to serve as the primary communicators in the morning and evening sessions.
